Every child should take ballet... Not to become a ballet dancer, but to be exposed to classical music. Being exposed to classical music gives them beautiful thoughts, and much more vivid imaginations. ~Marcia Dale Weary
Elesia's love of dance began as a preschooler, twirling and leaping to classical music, with her parents her supportive audience. From the moment she stepped foot inside a studio, Elesia knew she was destined to study classical ballet. From childhood through adulthood, she trained and performed at pre-professional academies under master instructors in California, Idaho, Oregon, and New York.
A strong interest in ballet technique and pedagogy led Elesia to study the various training methods to which serious students commit. Seeking further education, Elesia began attending workshops and mentoring young dancers.
In 2017, Elesia was recognized by American Ballet Theatre as an outstanding applicant to the Project Plie National Curriculum Teacher Training Scholarship. In 2018, she received a certificate from Oregon Ballet Theatre for her participation in their foundational years teachers' workshop. Elesia will soon complete her Vaganova Method Advanced Beginner, as well as Level 1 certification via Annette Thomas, as well as Inna Stabrova of the Ohio Conservatory of Ballet.
Following in the footsteps of her instructors, Elesia has developed the gift of sincere connection with her students. Holding exceptionally high standards, she cultivates artistry, musicality, etiquette, flexibility, strength, and precision...all while infusing her lessons with the sacred joy of ballet. Elesia is honored to pass down everything she has internalized throughout her ballet career.
